| This unit introduces the study of traditional Chinese materia
medica and examines the features of about 202 traditional Chinese
medicinal substances in nine major categories. Please note; of
these 202 medicinal substances a total of 141 are studied in class
and the remaining 61 are rarely used medicinals requiring minimal
self directed study. Studies include identifying traditional Chinese
medicinal substances, describing the main methods by which they
are prepared and the characteristics, functions, main therapeutic
applications, dosage range and any cautions or contraindications. |
