Massage

Western massage techniques were popularised by the work of Pehr Henrich Ling and Dr. Johann Mezger in the 19th century, who developed systematic massage methods and encouraged the use of massage as a medical treatment.

Relaxation massage has a variety of benefits such as improved circulation, pain reduction and stress relief. Remedial massage uses deep pressure on a particular area such as the shoulder or leg. Traditional Chinese Medicine stimulates energy (Qi) flow along meridians in the body, mapped by the Chinese 2000 years ago.

Today there is a growing demand for qualified and skilled massage practitioners in Australia, particularly in wellness, health and sporting industries.

Graduates of one of our massage courses may gain entry into the Bachelor of Heath Science (Complementary Medicine) conferred by Charles Sturt University by completing additional core and elective units.
